How do I select a physician at Mount Kisco Medical Group?

We  recommend that all patients select a Primary Care Physician (PCP) at  Mount Kisco Medical Group. PCPs include internists, pediatricians and  obstetricians / gynecologists. Your PCP is generally the first person  you see for a regular physical exam or for a health problem. He or she  will become familiar with your medical history, and will help you  maintain health and wellness. He or she will also coordinate care with  other physicians as needed.

At  Mount Kisco Medical Group, there are a number of primary care  physicians to choose from. Ideally, you should take time to choose a  primary care physician that is most compatible with you. To get  started, please go to our Physician Directory. If you would like more information, just call our Physician Referral Services:

Internal Medicine: 914-242-1592
  Pediatrics: 914-242-1340
  All Other Departments: 914-242-5630

If you are a member of a managed care plan, please call them to let them know whom you have selected as your PCP.

Which health plans are accepted at Mount Kisco Medical Group?

We  provide care for patients with traditional health insurance, managed  care plans, Medicare and for patients who pay out of their own pocket.  You may find out the different plans with which our physicians  participate by calling MKMG's Billing Department at 914-242-1388 or by visiting our Insurances page.

How will I be billed?

Managed  care co-payments and payments for non-covered services are expected  when services are provided unless other arrangements have been made. If  you are to be billed, you will receive a monthly billing statement that  lists all charges incurred since your last statement. Payments received  from you or your insurance company and any balance due will be  indicated. We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

If  you wish, we can submit charges directly to your primary insurance  company. If you have a managed care plan, you will only receive a  statement if you have an outstanding co-payment or if you have received  services not covered by your plan.

If you have any questions about your statements, please e-mail our Billing Representative at billinginquiry@mkmg.com, or call 914-242-1388

Is Mount Kisco Medical Group a participating Medicare provider?

Yes. If you have questions regarding Medicare coverage of treatments and services,
call our Medicare Representative at 914-242-1204. For more information, you may wish to contact Medicare directly at 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227). Or, click here to visit their website: www.medicare.gov.

How do I schedule an appointment?

For non-urgent medical needs, you may now schedule an appointment on-line using our Appointment Request Form. Or, you may call your physician’s office for an appointment (please refer to telephone numbers listed on our Telephone Directory page). When you call, please inform us of the name of your health  insurance plan, and any changes that have taken place since your last  visit. It is helpful to have your insurance card and a calendar handy  when making your appointment.

When  you come for your appointment, please make sure you have your current  insurance card. It is also helpful if you bring a list of all  prescription or over-the-counter medications you are taking and any  allergies that you have.

If you must cancel an appointment, please let us know 24 hours in advance so we may give that time to another patient.

How are my medical records kept?

We  establish one medical record for our patients that includes all  pertinent details about your care including records and results of  tests. This record is available to all Mount Kisco Medical Group  physicians at all times, resulting in greater continuity in your care.  All medical records are completely confidential and are not used  outside of our Group without your permission.

When is the best time to reach my physician for questions?

Most  physicians have regularly scheduled periods in which they return  patient calls. When you see your physician, ask about the best time to  call. Or you may ask the nurses in your physician’s department.

Will I get to see my primary care physician at every visit?

It  is important that there is continuity in your care and that your  primary care physician gets to know you well. You will almost always  meet with your primary care physician. If for some reason you primary  care physician is not available, another MKMG physician in the same  department will see you.

What if I am not feeling well and need to see a physician immediately?

Unless it is a "911" emergency, please call 914-241-1050 24 hours a day and ask for your physician.

What should I do in an emergency?

Please visit our In An Emergency page for details.

What if I want to see a specialist?

If  you have traditional insurance, you may make an appointment directly  with a specialist. However, it is always a good idea to consult your  Primary Care Physician (internist, pediatrician, obstetrician /  gynecologist) first. HMO or managed care insurance plans generally  require you to consult your Primary Care Physician to obtain a referral  before seeing a specialist.
