A general internist treating adolescent and adult patients, Dr. Lisa Bardack has been practicing at MKMG since 1996. She earned her MD in 1990 from New York University’s School of Medicine, and went on to intern and complete her residency at New York Hospital.
In 1993, she worked simultaneously as an instructor for Cornell University Medical College and a clinical associate for New York Hospital. She later became an assistant professor, while practicing at the hospital’s women’s health center. In 1996, Dr. Bardack decided to make a change.
"I wanted to focus on clinical medicine and building my practice," she said. "I liked MKMG because it was such a quality, multi-specialty group."
Since then, Dr. Bardack has treated her patients with a decided focus on preventive medicine, and careful attention to how psychological and social factors interplay with their physical and emotional health.
Dr. Bardack also has a special interest in patients with eating disorders, such as anorexia and bulimia. Having worked with such patients in the past, Dr. Bardack works with area therapists and nutritionists provide the best possible care for these patients.
"Overall, I do a lot of preventive care and health maintenance," she said. "This includes paying attention to diet, exercise and lifestyles. But I also go beyond the medical details to really get to know my patients’ lives. I try to help them cope with outside stress, which plays a large role in their physical health and well being."
Dr. Bardack welcomes all new patients ages 13 and up, and can be reached by calling 241-1050.
