5. Dr. Deborah Mollo, Pediatrician

A board-certified pediatrician who joined MKMG in July, Dr. Emily Puntillo has a long history of educational and practical training.

She first attended New York University, graduating in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Sociology. She then moved on to Valhalla’s New York Medical College, where she received her Ph.D. in 1989 and her medical degree in 1995.

For the next three years, Dr. Puntillo served as a pediatric resident at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center, where she treated patients ranging in age from birth to 22 years for a variety of illnesses.

“My pediatric residency gave me unique opportunity to learn about a vast range of common and rare pediatric diseases, as well as the methods to treat and prevent them,” she said.

Dr. Puntillo went on to serve as chief resident in 1998, and joined MKMG after completing her post-graduate training.

“When treating children, I communicate at their level” she said. “I let them touch and use the tools I use, which helps them become familiar with the instruments and feel more at ease with me.”

A member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Puntillo said that communicating effectively with parents, especially about prevention, is a crucial part of her practice.

“I make it a point to discuss safety measures to prevent accidents, as well as vaccination opportunities to prevent disease,” she added.

Dr. Puntillo sees patients in both the Mount Kisco and Yorktown offices.
She speaks fluent Spanish and Italian, can be reached by calling MKMG’s Pediatrics Department at 242-1390.
