A board-certified radiologist who has practiced for more than 14 years, Dr. Marc Hertz brings MKMG a wealth of knowledge and expertise.
Prior to joining us as Director of Radiology in February, Dr. Hertz served as president of Northern Metropolitan Radiology Associates, where he directed a team of 40 radiologists serving 15 hospitals and health care facilities.
A graduate of Howard University’s College of Medicine in Washington, D.C., Dr. Hertz completed his residency at Montefiore Hospital in 1984. He received training in all types of radiology, from X-ray and ultrasound to CT scan and mammography. He also trained on New York’s first state-approved MRI technology. Dr. Hertz cites an internship in anatomic pathology as being particularly valuable to his career.
"My training in pathology helped me to understand the disease process, and to correlate this process with what you expect to see on an image," he said. "It helped me become a better radiologist."
Dr. Hertz said that what drew him to MKMG was its exceptional quality of care and its commitment to patient satisfaction and rapid treatment.
"MKMG is one of the few practices where patients consult directly with radiologists about their scans or images," he said.
"Together, they review the films, discuss results and answer questions. This gives patients a feeling of confidence, and helps to allay any fears they might have. It’s an excellent way to practice medicine."
MKMG is working with Dr. Hertz to enhance service and reduce patient waiting times in Radiology.
