The Mount Kisco Medical Group is proud to announce that the highly regarded periodical UROLOGY has an article by Dr. Mark Nogueira, “Median Lobe in Robot-Assisted Radical Prostatectomy: Evaluation and Management,” in the May 2008 issue.

Dr. Mark Nogueira is a specialist in minimally invasive urologic oncology.  Dr. Nogueira has been performing robotic surgery early since its inception.  He has performed hundreds of prostatectomies for prostate cancer. 

In the article, “Median Lobe in Robot-Assisted Radical Prostatectomy: Evaluation and Management,” Dr. Nogueira seeks to determine whether the presence of a median lobe can be predicted preoperatively and whether its presence affects postoperative urinary function and immediate pathologic outcomes after robot-assisted radical prostatectomy.

The results of this study have shown that the presence of a median lobe does not alter the outcomes in patients who undergo robot-assisted prostatectomy.
